*UPDATE* - The actual rule that was mis-interpreted was that its illegal to conduct a protest where traffic is obstructed for more than 10 mins.

Hey Everyone . . .

Its going to be really tough doin a protest this sunday. . .Since now the rule is that you cant do a protest for more than ten minutes…if a protest goes on beyond that … then it will be a criminal offence…
So we are workin on an alternative method to do this protest…

The Commissioner has also very clearly said that once the discotheques , pubs , bars apply for and get the license..nothing will change…The Pubs and Bar Association are workin on the same..i understand that they are also fighting this battle legally… So lets just hope that they get those licenses..

If anyone has the authority to change the current situation of Bangalore..its the Home Minister..and he firmly believes that ..The need to lift these bans and extend the deadline is clearly that of 400 odd people from an elite section of the society..and that they have a city of a million odd people to worry bout and cant change things for a minority.. I am really disappointed and heart broken..will keep you guys posted on things. .lets just hope for the best. . .

Mr. Michael Menezes, the President of the Event and Entertainment Management Association sent us a note in support of our stand against the police ruling. Thanks to him and to everyone who has sent us words of encouragement, but please translate that into action, join us in numbers at the protest or atleast sign the online petition.

It is indeed extremely unfortunate that the local Authorities in Bangalore seem to have taken a misinformed decision to disallow live music in bars, pubs and restaurants in the city, I say misinformed as I believe there is simply no rationale or logic for this decision !

As the President of the Event and Entertainment Management Association, I would like to pledge the support of the nation’s entertainment industry to the venue-owners and live performers in Bangalore in their fight for justice to get this patently unfair order revoked with immediate effect. The Association believes it is critical to make the Authorities understand that such an order has put the livelihood of thousands of performers and venue-owners and their families at stake for no fault of theirs.
